Playing with Paper

Recently I've had a little time to get some pages done. I'm slowly working through all of the photos from last summer. Maybe some day I'll catch up?

This first layout is part of a challenge hosted by Designs By Ashley Rock. If you've never been to her site go check it out! She has a lot of great stuff going on over there!

This second layout was a lot of fun. I wanted to incorporate a lot of photos so I created a grid layout and used a lot of bright Echo Park papers. There are a ton of elements on this page, each square seems like it's own mini page!

New Videos

Alright, so I've added a couple of new videos to my YouTube! I guess you could say I've been on a roll lately! This first one is a mixed media piece I did using some fun different techniques. The warm weather we've been having lately is really getting me into the flowery mood!  Click on the image to go to the video...

The next video I just finished today is this darling little tin. I was having an issue storing all of my loose buttons that come on new clothes. To fix that problem, I altered an altoids tin to hold them all.

Mini Book 8

Book #8 in the series is a circular book with an accordion style page. I hadn't scrapped my kids Halloween pictures yet, so I did a mostly monochromatic book, in oranges. I had also bought some cd tins from Stampington, so I altered one of the tins to hold the book.

This last year is probably the last time I'll get away with keeping my kids home on Halloween. They were just about two last year, so they still didn't know what they were missing. They did have their special Halloween t-shirts and they helped hand out candy at home.

Reworking a Canvas

So yesterday I was doing a little spring cleaning in my craft room, and I came across an old canvas board I had worked on last year. I absolutely hated it! Whatever idea I had had when starting on it was terrible. But that is the great thing about canvases, you can start over! I made a video of the process that you can view HERE.

Here is the finished piece that I came up with:

My Minds Eye Challenge #33

Okay, so seriously, how fun are these MME challenges? I am completely addicted! It is so fun to take a sketch and interpret it in my own way. Then going through and looking at all of the other entries and how different they all are. Inspiring!

For this challenge I choose a photo of me holding my triplets in the hospital. This was taken a couple of days before they were discharged. They had grown so much, but they all still fit on one arm.

I used three MME papers to create the layout, Dolled Up - Princess is the main sheet. The next is Follow Your Heart - Be Amazing and the paper framing the photo is Mabel - Little Lady.

The mom embellishment is a small accessory from the Savvy - Anything for You. The flower embellishment is from the Love Me accessory sheet. I covered it in Glossy Accents and added a Paper Studio bling.

This larger piece that serves as the pape title is an accessory sticker from the Savvy - Brothers & Sisters. The orange paper that I framed it in is a Paper Studio sheet. I also used the orange paper to cut out a branch banner with my Martha Stewart punch. Lastly I edged all the pieces with Distress Ink to age the page.

Scrapbook Progress

I've had some time lately to devote to catching up on my scrap booking. I've always had a hard time remembering what photos I have printed out, what pages I want to do and what products I've bought to do them. I like being organized and felt that when it came to scrapping, I was most certainly not organized. So I purchased some wonderful products from the Cropper Hopper to help me on my way. One item was this black file holder. It's made to hold 12 x 12 items. Then I purchased the plastic page sleeves seen in my file holder. When I print photos, I can slide them into a 4x6" pocket on the sleeve. Then I can add whatever product into the sleeve. When I'm ready to scrap, I can grab one of the sleeves and get to work!

Here is one of the pages I recently finished. These pictures are from last summer, the first time my kids watched my dad race. Brett was very excited and yelled GO GO when the cars went by.

This layout features a picture of my husband holding the boys when they were pretty small. He was pretty nervous about holding more than one at a time when they were that little, so it was fun to get a picture of it.

The title on this page is something I designed in illustrator and cut out with my cricut. I then stamped an graphic image lightly on the words and lined them with stickles.

As you can tell from the first photo, I have many more sleeves awaiting!

Mini Book #7

Book number 7 is a pocket style book with accordion fold photo mats. I decided to make this mini all about my boys. There are two pockets so I did an accordion for each of them.

Inside the book I added a photo of each boy:

On a Roll! Book #6

Alright, so I rolled out book number 6 a day after #5! On a roll! This book is an accordion fold style book. I made two books, this first one is the one I put together on the video:

Highlighting some of my daughters, hair do's the first 1year and a half of her life, this simple small book is just for fun! You can pick any theme you want, even document one day in these simple albums.

The other one I put together was to document New Years! Getting to go out and party all night is something I haven't done in years, so I used this album to show the photos I took that night.

These two albums may have the same skeleton, but they are so different! It just goes to show how many uses you can get out of one style of book.
