Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #51

How was everyone's Valentines Day? Hope it was filled with love and happiness!
Today I have a new sketch for you from Sketch-N-Scrap. Make sure you upload your layout to the blog for a chance to win a great prize.

This last holiday season I took a leap and decided to make Christmas cookies with the kids. Not a big deal right? Except I am meticulously tidy. The kids are starting to loosen me up, I don't get everything picked up at the end of the day like I used to, but 6 little hands in flour and dough? Well when all was said and done we went for it, and it went okay. The decorating of the cookies? Maybe next year.
For my layout I started with some yummy papers from My Minds Eye.  I layered on some embellishments to add a little dimension.
I pulled out some Wood Chip Alphas for the title. I was going to dye them, but after laying them out on the page for size I liked the natural wood look of them with the papers.
Items I used in this layout:
MME • Lost & Found • Madison Avenue • Pretty Dress Shop Paper
MME • Lost & Found • Madison Avenue • Cherish Pintuck Paper
MME • Lost & Found • So Sweet • Plait Paper
MME • Lost & Found • Mabel • Joy Title
MME • Lost & Found • Clever • Celebrate Bingo Card
Elles Studio • Vintage Christmas • Flash Cards
Crate Paper • Peppermint • Chipboard Accents
Pink Paislee • Expressions Wood Shop • Wood Chip Alphas

Sketch N Scrap Inspired By Challenge #2

Here is the sketch for our second "Inspired By" challenge at Sketch-N-Scrap.
I've had this picture of Rylan sitting in my "to scrap" file for quite some time. This kid makes me laugh every day. If there is a way to do something backwards, it's the way he prefers. Like water guns, why squirt others when you can spray your own face? With two guns no less!
I had pulled some different papers to do this layout but I just wasn't happy with how they looked with the photo. I started flipping through some of my 12x12 paper pads and found the striped paper and knew it would be perfect.  I cut the title out with my cricut and covered it in glossy accents to give it a subtle shine.
Items I used in this layout:
Crate Paper • Story Teller • 12x12 Paper Pad
Cosmo Cricket • Little Boys • Tease
Crate Paper • Toy Box Collection • Accent Cuts
Provo Craft • Cricut Expression
Ranger • Glossy Accents

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #19

Today I have another card sketch for you all to play with! Hop on over to the Sketch-N-Scrap blog to check out what the other designers came up with and to upload your take on the sketch!
For my card, I played with some fun bright papers from Echo Park. I also used a die and stamp set by Sizzix to make the mason jar full of jelly beans. Instead of stamping the beans I die cut a bunch out and hand colored them. Then I covered them in glossy accents to make them shine.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #50

Looking for some inspiration? Check out this fun sketch! I had such a great time working with this one. Head on over to the Sketch-N-Scrap blog to see the rest of the Design Team members layouts and to upload yours.
For my layout, I started with 3 pictures from summertime. I guess I'm wishing for some warmer weather? After digging around in my paper piles for a while I decided to use some items from Simple Stories 100 Days of Summer line. Appropriate right? This is one of the few times I only used one manufacture in a layout. You know I'm usually mixing it up!
One of the things about Simple Stories, more often than not I can't decide which side of the paper I want to use! I love them both. On this layout, I featured the back side by folding and distressing two corners to add extra layers to the layout.
Come back in a couple of days to check out our newest card sketch!

Items I used in this layout:
Simple Stories • 100 Days of Summer • Sweet Memories
Simple Stories • 100 Days of Summer • Simple Pleasures
Simple Stories • 100 Days of Summer • 4x6 Journal Elements #1
Simple Stories • 100 Days of Summer • 6x12 Page Elements
Simple Stories • 100 Days of Summer • Fundamental Cardstock Stickers
Tim Holtz • Idea-ology • Tiny Attacher
Tim Holtz • Tonic Studios • Paper Distresser
