Finished Pieces
With Handmade'ns just one week away I'm getting all of my projects finished. I had wanted to build more items for this show, but it looks like these three will be my only pieces of furniture. It was fun getting back into working with wood after being in temporary housing for the last two years.
I'll be building more of these and other pieces soon. Contact me if you're interested in any!

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge # 36
Who's having fun with Sketch-N-Scrap's World Card Making Challenges? Today I have a fun card challenge for you to play with. Upload your take to the SNS blog today!
I put together another Halloween card using this sketch. I kept it pretty simple letting the beautiful papers work their own "magic". I stuck mainly to black and white for this card. Only using one piece to add color. The solid black paper helps ground the whole piece.

Quick Mini Album
I have a new mini album video for you. This one was inspired by one I saw on pinterest. You can see the original mini here. I made some slight changes to it which you'll see in the video. It's a quick album and the base off it only takes 1 12x12 sheet of double sided cardstock.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #67
Back again today with another sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap.
For this sketch I took a couple of photos from a summer vacation to Kansas City. I took the kids to World's of Fun and they have a section of the park perfect for kids their age. Tons of rides they could go on by themselves. Plus as a bonus they got to meet Snoopy!
Items I used in this layout:

Reconditioning a Cricut Mat
Well if you've read any of my scrapbooking posts, you know I use my cricut quite a bit. My go to for creating custom titles. Well today I pulled it out to cut a piece for a baby album I am working on. I stuck my paper down on the mat and stuck it in the machine. To my annoyance, the paper did not stick and began moving around while cutting. Oh I knew this day would come, when the mat lost it's "stick".
A while back I pinned a post on reconditioning your cricut mat. I decided today was the day to give that a try. I have 3 useless mats so what do I have to lose? I also hate buying new mats. They are so incredible sticking it's almost impossible to get your paper off of it for a while.
The post I referenced to is right here. What you need is a magic eraser and Zig two way glue. Which I just happen to have. I actually went through two magic erasers to clean these 3 mats. I scrubbed and scrubbed them removing 99% of the left over paper fuzz. There was a little bit of glitter here and there that was impossible to get off, so it stayed.
After coating the mats with the Zig glue and letting it dry, I gave it a test run.
I tell you what. I doubt I ever have to by another mat. It's pretty tacky but nothing like a new mat, which I believe is the best part.
Go check out Jamie's post on this technique for more in-depth explanation of how to recondition your cricut mat.

Apples
Ohhhh yes... Apples. My mom says, "Do you want some apples?' I say sure! I'd love to make some apple sauce. The kids LOVE apple sauce. I didn't realize how many apples they planned on picking.... My mom, dad, family, friends. How 4 trees can produce so much.
This is my mom's car when she shows up, after only picking "some" of the apples:
So after I ask my mom to stay and help, because really, it'd take me 2 months without help, we work on making apple sauce. (and an apple pie, and dried apples) 4 crock pots, a pot on the stove and 2 roasting pans going, it took 3 days to go through those apples. (I am soooo sick of apples)
So all said and done I have 54 quarts of apple sauce. And bags of dried apples. Plenty right? Cause I am soooo over apples.
For a while anyway.

Sketch N Scrap Inspired By Sketch #10
I have a new sketch for you from Sketch-N-Scrap. We have a wonderful prize for you this month, make sure you play along and upload your layout to the SNS Blog for a chance to win.
I was able to scrap our first day of preschool on this layout. I made the two photo sketch into a three photo one to suit my photos. I kept the layout pretty simple because the paper were just so perfect and the photos are a little busy with the writing. I felt it didn't need a lot of extra.
Items I used in this layout:
October Afternoon • School House • Ruler

Card Stock • Red
Basic Grey • Picadilly • Three Layer Cake

SKetch N Scrap Card Challenge #35
Here today is a fun sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. This one has endless possibilities. It would make a great Birthday card or Holiday one as well. Upload your take on the sketch to SNS blog!
For my card, I dug through my scrap stash of Halloween paper. After distressing the edges of the main piece it came down to using my circle punches to cut out some shapes for the body. I did ink the edges of the pieces as well. My bats were shapes that I had cut out with my cricut a couple a weeks ago for another project. It's always nice to have extra bits like that around.
Thanks for checking in and please play along with us this month at Sketch-N-Scrap as we celebrate World Card Making Month!

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #66
Happy October! I have another great sketch for you from Sketch-N-Scrap, and we have another great prize for you so don't forget to upload your take on this sketch to the blog.
These photos are from the end of the school year last year. They were fun shots that I wanted to have scrapped and this was the perfect chance. A lot of times I use a solid paper as the main background paper on my layouts, but I decided to switch it up on this layout. I still needed an area that was less busy so I used plain white cardstock to make the circle in the middle, only dressing it up with a bit of marker. Then the layered papers and photos were able to pop once topped on the white.
The title piece was once again designed in Illustrator and cut out with my cricut. I added some stickles to it to add a bit of dimension and glitter.
Items I used in this layout:
Jillibean Soup • Cream of Mushroom • Portobello
Pink Paislee • Hometown Summer • Green Acres
Jillibean Soup • Spotted Owl Soup • 2 Cups of Confetti
Card Stock • White
