Fall Card

Okay first off I have to say, what a HUGE fan I am of PaperTrey Ink. I have to limit my time on their site because seriously, I would buy it all! I have quite a few of their items, but my "want" list is much greater than the "have" list.
They have a September Blog Hop Challenge going on right now and I decided to play along! This is the card I made for the challenge. I walk you through the steps for creating the leaves below. The center embellishment is a Stamp&Die set from PaperTrey Ink.
I used a gate fold style card for this project.

Okay for the leaves.... Gather your supplies. Ranger Distress Ink in various fall leaf colors, white card stock (I've cut mine in 2x2 squares), archival ink, stamp and die.
Next I stamped the fall leaf colors, aka Red, Yellow, Green & Brown onto my craft sheet. Next I spritzed them with a little water.
I take my squares of white card stock and drag them through the ink to get a different effect on every piece.
You can let your paper dry or use a heat gun to speed the process.
When dry, I used my Technique Tuesday leaf die and cut leaves out of each square of dyed paper.
Here is what a leaf looks like once cut out.
Now that I have all of my leaves cut out I'm ready to stamp.
Using the coordinating leaf stamp I've finished off my leaves and they are ready for embellishing.

More Cards!

So while playing at my craft room the other day, I decided to make some more cards. Because one of the Sketch-N-Scrap card sketches was laying about I decided to make a couple more cards based off of it. Here is the September 5h sketch, you still have a week to upload your take on it to the SNS blog for a chance to win a fabulous prize!
For these cards, I literally dumped out my folder of "scrap" paper and went to town.  I added some sequins for a little sparkle on this one.
For this card, I used some different punches and stamps to embellish. Although I stay pretty close to the sketch in my cards. They do look completely different.
And last, here is the card I showed you the other day.

A Craft Room Tale

So what happens when you are innocently glittering snowflakes in your craft room....
And you happen to leave the "glitter drawer" open?
Oh yeah, then add a 3 year old....
Miss Brileigh was drawn to the pink glitter like a moth to a flame. So she got a glue stick and a little bowl of glitter to play with. She did very well, until her brothers found out. Lets just say the waste in my dyson is very.... sparkly.

Sketch N Scrap September Card Challenge

Here are a couple of cards I made this month. These two were done using sketches from Sketch-N-Scrap. If you haven't already head on over to the SNS site to check out the sketches and upload your take. There is a fabulous prize this month!

Sketch N Scrap Challege #41

I'm back today with another great sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. We have another great prize up for grabs this month, so make sure you post your take on this sketch to the SNS blog for a chance to win!
I've had these photos of Brileigh for quite some time, just waiting for the chance to scrap them. She loves to be in my room "craftin" as she says. As she grows, she gets to use more items, like glitter and safety scissors. When these photos were taken she was limited to colors, but that never stopped her creativity.
I love layering items on my layouts. For the upper right, I used two journaling spots and banner cut from coordinating paper to create a nice little corner embellishment. You can see here that I did edge my pieces with brown ink to distress them a bit. The top journal spot was also stamped with a Fancy Pants stamp and Archival ink.
My title piece was designed in Adobe Illustrator and cut out with my cricut.
Another close up of the embellishments I used, this journal spot was stamped using a stamp from My Minds Eye. You also get a good look and the stitch detail. I think adding thread in any way makes for a nice touch on any layout.
I want to apologize for the state of my photos. The weather has been overcast and it's hard to get good shots indoors.

Sketch N Scrap Challenge #40

Check out the latest sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap! If you are a fan of multiple photos in your layouts, this one is for you. Make sure you check out the SNS blog, and upload your layout based on this sketch for a chance to win!
When I was putting together my layout, I chose to flip the sketch to work better with my photos. The five photos worked great for me to put some fun shots of the triplets on the 4th of July. I had a bag of Americana elements that worked great with the Pink Paislee Declaration papers I used. Unfortunately I cant remember where they are from. I added some Stickles and Glossy Accents to them for a little extra pop.

Products used in this layout:
Pink Paislee • Declaration • Block Party
