Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #204

I have a card sketch for you today that I designed for Sketch-N-Scrap.

Every once in a while I pull out some dies and my big shot and just cut out a load of images. Today, I was thinking flowers. So I grabbed some solid colored papers, flower dies and started cutting. After I have a pile of options, I start making cards. When you have a lot of choices at your disposal fun arrangements come together easily!

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #235

In a month full of card sketches, over at Sketch-N-Scrap we've tucked in our normal 15th day of the month layout sketch. I designed this one, so I hope you all have fun with it!

We were able to sneak a family vacation in this summer before school started. We went to Colorado and had all sorts of fun. One of the things was white water rafting for the first time. The kids had a blast! I see us doing that again in the future.

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #203

While we are celebrating World Card Making Day over at Sketch-N-Scrap this month, we still have our regular series of sketches coming at you. This one, designed by Stacy is ready to inspire you today.

For my card, I dug through my file of pink leftovers. I needed some baby girl cards, and you can never go wrong with pink. It's fun to mix and match papers from different lines and come up with a perfect combination.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #234

Happy October! I have a wonderful layout sketch for you designed by Stacy. Make sure you check out all of the design team members layouts based on this sketch. Head on over to Sketch-N-Scrap to see them.

We are getting slightly cooler temps around here and that has us all thinking football! We've recently started tackle football, they grow up too fast! Brett really enjoys getting out there and is having fun playing with his friends.

With my layout I stuck primarily to the school colors of blue and gold. I added in a touch of field green to finish it off.

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #200

Happy Friday everyone! Stacy has a fun card sketch to motivate you today over at Sketch-N-Scrap.

For my card, it all started with the sentiment strip I found when going through a pile of new ones I had just purchased. I then chose some bright papers that worked well with the martini glasses that were in my stash of things I had stamped and colored in the past. The rest came together quickly!

While I was working on my card, my daughter thought she'd give card making a try. Here is her take on Stacy's sketch!

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #231

Well, we are back to school! Like every year I stupidly believe the kids going back to school will give me some long needed free time. Some day I'll learn! We are more busy when school starts it seems. I did manage to carve out some time to put together a layout based on Stacy's sketch. Hop on over to Sketch-N-Scrap to see what the other design team members came up with.
I had some fun photos of the kids on the forth of July that I was waiting to get onto a layout. This sketch worked great for a couple of the photos I had.

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #199

Back today with a super fun card sketch for you. It is designed by Lisa at Sketch-N-Scrap.

I had made the flowers I used in this card a while ago. I like to make multiples when I craft, them I have something to chose from in the future. This is one of those moments. The flowers were just begging to be used and I had a lot of papers that went well with them.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #230

Back at it today! Can you believe we are in August?!? School starts super soon, so I am trying to catch up on my summer photos before we head into the school year. Sketch-N-Scrap has a wonderful sketch from Lisa today to get your creative juices flowing!
We had a softball season this year! And a baseball season! That's pretty exciting after last year not having any sports season. However, we all found out... Playing in the outfield isn't always so exciting.

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #198

Hello again! I'm back today with another sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap.  This one was designed by Lisa and is open to so many interpretations!

I've had so much fun with the Concord and 9th Mail Drop Stamp and Die set I used on the last card sketch, I used it again for this weeks card. There are so many possibilities with this set you can make so many different cards.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #229

Over at Sketch-N-Scrap today, we have a fun one photo sketch from Lisa.

For my layout I turned the sketch on its side to accommodate my photo better. Every year Brileigh goes flower shopping for her fairy garden. She put together a beautiful one this year. Now she just needs to remember to water it twice a day in this July heat!

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #197

I hope everyone who celebrated had a safe holiday yesterday. My kids had a lot of fun blowing up money on the back patio. It's fun to watch them in their element excited for the fireworks.
Today I have a fun card sketch to inspire you, designed by Stacy for Sketch-N-Scrap.

For my card, I played with the Concord and 9th stamp and die set called Mail Drop. It's a fun set that can be used for many different sentiments.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #228

Happy July! It's been plenty hot here so there has been a lot of time spent in the craft room. I'm still working on catching up on my scrapbook so having great sketches like this one from Stacy at Sketch-N-Scrap makes it all the easier!

The kids all signed up to do the long jump at their elementary track meet in May. Like everything else in their life they do it differently. It was fun to get an image of each one jumping into the sand pit.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #227

Back today with a fun layout created by Lisa! Head on over to Sketch-N-Scrap to see what the design team did with the sketch and to upload your version for a chance to win.

We recently finished off the school year and had the annual elementary track meet. My son signed up for the long run, 800 meters. That being "my race" (way back when) I gave him some advise. Run hard but save a little for the last 200m. To my surprise he actually listened and took the lead the last bit of the race. He was so excited to bring home the first place ribbon.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #224

Happy May Day!
Today Lisa has a great 2 photo sketch for you to play along with over at Sketch-N-Scrap.

This is my last layout featuring photos from our stop at the Surprise Your Eyes Art Pop Up in Scottsdale, Arizona. Today's layout shows a couple of photos with Brett. He really liked the doing the one with the football players.

So I did a thing...

With the world trying so hard to get back to some sort of normal, more and more activities have been happening. My kids are currently playing 4 different sports, as they have started making up the lost fall volleyball and football seasons and starting the spring baseball and softball seasons. I feel like I am running someone to or from a practice multiple times a day. I am happy to do it! It means they are getting back to being kids!

As for me, I had a wild hair to sign up for two craft shows. It has been many years since I have done one on my own. I told myself not to go overboard, but...

The first show I did was down the road and my goal was to fit everything in my car in one trip as the next show is further away and I can only take one trip.

I was able to squeeze everything in, including all 3 kids. There was some grumbling about what they had to hold on their laps and being so tightly together, but we made it! For the next show all I have to do is figure out where the suitcases are going to go!

Here is a shot of my booth mostly set up. It was as tight a squeeze as in the car to fit it all in! My show this weekend is in York, Nebraska, so if you are from around the area, stop by the Crossroads Junk & Vintage Market to say hi!

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #192

April is quickly coming to an end. It's hard to believe summer break is right around the corner! If you are looking for some card inspiration today, I have a sketch that I designed for Sketch-N-Scrap up on their blog today.

The bulk of my card was made with papers from American Crafts, the line Campy Trails. That set has some great papers that layer so well together. The feathers are a stamp and die set from ART C and the sentiment is from Recollections.

Sketch Challenge from Freshly Made Sketches

Something new from me! It has been quite some time since I've played along on a sketch challenge other than Sketch-N-Scrap. I've recently needed to make a lot of cards so I went looking for sketches to inspire me. Freshly Made Sketches is a fun blog that I just happened to stumble upon so I thought I would play along with their latest sketch.

For my card I decided to make it a shaker. Given the sketch, I used heart shapes to make the focal point and each one is an individual shaker. That way even  if the card is stood up there is still sequins in each cutout.

For the background, I made a rainbow effect using my blending brush and a mix of oxide stamp pads by Ranger.

I repeated the rainbow effect on the bottom piece to help the sentiment stand out. The hello itself is cut out of multiple layers of black paper that is stacked to pop it up and finished off with Wink Of Stella and Glossy Accents.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #223

I have a sketch for you today that I designed for Sketch-N-Scrap.

In today's sketch I featured pictures of Brileigh from our visit to Surprise Your Eyes. The hour glass photo was amazing. You really get the illusion that she is sitting inside the glass.

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #191

Over at Sketch-N-Scrap today we have another great card sketch to inspire you.

This card came together pretty quick for me. I had a bunch of scraps laying out from other projects that I used for the base of the card. I then dug in to my stash drawer for the flowers. I made them a while back when I was working on something else. I always make extras for the future.
