Sketch-N-Scrap Layout Challenge #38

It can't seriously be August already can it? Where is this summer going? 

I'm here today with another sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap! I had a lot of fun with this sketch, make sure when you play along that you upload your take to the blog for a chance to win fun prizes!

For my layout I chose two pictures of Brileigh from this summer. While at my parents house one weekend, she had her first tree climbing experience.

 I custom made my title piece, I show you how I did it below.

The Dear Lizzy line that I used has so many fun embellishments it's hard to choose what to use. I thought these cloud chip shapes fit my layout just right. Along with the pinwheel below photos.

I cut the TREES out with my cricut and ran it through my mini xyron machine.

Leaving the title on the backing paper, I stamped a muted background onto the piece with my stazon ink.

Then I used my ink dauber and distress ink to stain the piece yellow to match my layout.

Here are some of my new designs for the upcoming season. These guys are available on my website, ebay and etsy. (So many ways to shop!)

I am also finishing up some other goodies. These cute little pumpkin boxes will be for sale soon at The Country Nest, located in downtown Kearney, along with some of my Black Cats & Pumpkin Sitters.

I have not forgotten how to sew! I know I've been all paper lately, but I dug out my sewing machine recently to get back to my primitive crafting. I have some new designs I'm working on at the moment. Here is a box of items just waiting to be painted...

Sketch N Scrap Challenge #37

Here we go again to day with another wonderful sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. I just love this one and I had a lot of fun putting my layout together. As I did in the July 1st layout, I dug through my Christmas photos. I even used the same main paper for my layout. Make sure you upload your layout to the SNS site!

For this layout I chose 3 photos of Brileigh opening her Christmas presents. She is such a little diva and was excited to get some new princess things! There are a handful of different companies represented in this layout just like the July 1st.

My title piece, (okay are you tired of hearing this?) was cut out with my cricut. Once I typed the words out in Adobe Illustrator, I tweaked them a bit so it came on in one piece. I covered the letters with Glossy Accents to give it shine.

Sketch-N-Scrap Card Sketch Challenge

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! We had a couple parties and the kids did pretty well. The first party they were a little scared of the fireworks but the second one they were pro's!

I had some time to get a card done for the Sketch-N-Scrap card challenge today. Stop over at the SNS blog to check out the card and layout sketches for July and upload your take on them for a chance to win great prizes!

Sketch N Scrap Challenge #36

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... Well, at least in my craft room! What better way to cool off on a July afternoon, than to dig out some Christmas photos that need scraping?  I used this awesome sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap to base my layout on. Make sure you head over to the SNS blog to upload your take on the sketch and get in on the chance to win prizes!

The kids really got the hang of the present thing this last Christmas and it was fun to watch their reactions as they opened their presents. I used a lot of different brands to put this layout together, it's always fun to dig through a stash and mix and match papers and elements.

For my journal spot I used a Noteworthy die cut from Bo Bunny and added a little bakers twine for dimension.

My title piece was cut out with my cricut and I kept it small and simple as the rest of the layout has a lot of layers and color.

Last, I added some stickles to a snowflake chipboard piece to give it some extra pazazz. When using your embellishments don't be afraid to change them up a bit with glitter and inks!

Sketch-N-Scrap Card Sketch Challenges

I hope you all have been having fun with Sketch-N-Scraps new card sketches! I know I have! I've always wanted to make all of my cards, and these sketches have really helped me get it in gear.

Here is the sketch for the June 5th challenge:

And here is the card I did for the challenge. I played around with some fun elements and stamped out the title piece. The butterfly on the top was covered in crackle accents to give it fun effect. 

And here is the June 20th challenge sketch:

You'll noticed I used the same stamp for the title piece as the other card. Cards can have the same sentiment but be so different. This card features a large dimensional flower on the front, and was fun to put together.
