Snowmen & Parades

I was able to get a get a couple more things done yesterday! When I started this guy I was planning on having him hold a big candy cane. But when I had his bibs on, I didn't want to cover them up. So I added a pocket to them and filled it with goodies! This guy has a wire hanger on the back for hanging up.

This big guy started with an enamel bowl. I'm using what I have like last year. I probably had that bowl for 8 years! You can't see it in the picture but it is the bottom of this snowman light. I wired a grapevine to the rim of the bowl, then I wrapped the wreath with lights and added the greenery and berries. I filled the bowl with moss and sat the snowman in the middle. This guy does get a candy cane to hold. I also added mica flakes to the wreath and candy cane for a nice winter glitter.

This weekend was our town's "days". So the babies got their first taste of a parade. Over all I think they really enjoyed it. All of the big vehicles were a hit. The first siren that went off scared Brett, and the bottom lip came out. But he got over it pretty quick.

Rylan just made me laugh, he was sitting so content in the stroller, hands crossed and all.

Brett was in chill mode, once he got over the siren noises. He lost his frogger blanket somewhere between the parade and the park, but luckily there was a good samaritan who found it!

Don't they look soo excited!

Crafting Progress!

We've finally had some good weather. It has actually been beautiful lately! Mid 80's! The babies and I have gotten outside some to enjoy it. They are growing so fast. Today they are 9 months old! Brett is the only one with teeth, he has two. It has proven impossible to get a picture yet. They don't shy away from the camera though. They love to ham it up!

Here is my goofy boy Rylan!

And look at this ham! She loves the camera!

Okay so Brett didn't feel like hamming it up for the camera today. He has always been the serious one.

I just had to share this photo. Brileigh was so upset with Brett. He wouldn't hold his foot still so she could chew on it!

Okay so my title hinted towards a crafty post. I have managed to get some things done lately! I'd been punching this picture for quite some time. I finally got it done, and the rest came together quickly.

I also finished 2 of these primitive angels. They have been dusted with a shimmering glimmer mist, for a great look. I'm saving these items for my Handmade'ns show as that is coming up fast! I've got more things finished hopefully I have more pictures for you soon!

The summer is flying by so fast! They babies have really been keeping me busy. They boys are starting to crawl! YIKES! Brileigh is more interested in rolling around to get where she wants to go. The new carpet has been installed and my painting project is done. I don't have pictures as I haven't finished moving things in yet. Now that the babies are more mobile, I need to decide what I'm all going to put back out. I've had some time to work on crafty projects, but not a lot of time. The babies still take a good 3 hour nap in the afternoon, but there are always soo many things to get done! I've got a couple of pictures of what we've been up to lately.

Rylan is soo goofy. He always has a smile on his face. It doesn't take much to get him laughing.

My daughter aka long arms, got a hold of her dinner while I was warming her bottle. Notice the old cream carpet, we are more careful on the new carpet. She was so proud of herself.

Here is Miss Brileigh again sporting her first ever ponytail. She sat so still for me while I did her hair!

And last, my big boy Brett. My dad is a late model race car driver, and I think Brett my be following in his footsteps! He loves driving his car.

That's all I have today, it's about time for the babies to wake up from their nap, so I better get my chores done!

Where Have I Been?

Well we've been up to a lot lately. The babies are getting good at sitting up. They do good until they get too excited and then they face plant. Their legs are getting stronger as well. The boys will stand up really good, but Brileigh has a case of the jello legs. They are almost getting up on all fours. That is kind of scary. I don't know what it is going to be like when they are crawling all over the place!

We've been working on hair styles, I don't know if this one is going to last... Brileigh has the worst bed head!

We do a little fighting. I think the most spoken word our household is going to hear in the future is SHARE!

And we play so hard, we often fall asleep in our chairs.

We've also tried some new things! Crackers are a lot of fun. They taste good and they make a great mess!

And what have I been up to? Well, many years ago, someone thought it would be a neat idea to put ceiling texture on walls! After years of living with those pokey ugly walls I decided I was going to change it. I am getting new carpet, so now is the perfect time. After some long days of sanding, I have smooth walls. And a very dusty house. I've started painting, so hopefully I'll have that all done before the carpet gets laid. Here is a shot of the sanded walls before priming.

Oh and what a surprise when I pulled the carpet up. This nice textured floor! The carpet I removed was blue, which I thought was bad enough. But I can't imagine what they had to go with this! I hope there is no problem laying tile over that, as I've got that planned for in front of the door.

I'll post some finished photos when I'm done!

Storms Storms Storms

Okay, so I can't ever remember a year in my past where there have been so many storms. It seems that it is storming and raining more often than not lately. Every night the thunder and lighting roll in and then the rain. The up side, I haven't had to water the lawn, or my flowers. The down side? When am I supposed to mow my jungle??

Okay on a completely different note, I'm watching Wipeout while I type this, so it make take me a while and at times it may not make sense. I'm laughing too hard to type!

I've decided I'm fighting a loosing battle if I am going to try to figure out what my babies want. I mean if Brett wants to lay in his bouncy seat like this to play with his toys, who is his mom to stop him?

On to Brett again, I guess I haven't looked at the back of many peoples heads. But how many people have 2 swirls? Thank goodness it was Brett and not Brileigh that ended up with this unique hairstyle. He was also blessed with a cow lick in the front. His hair is going to be interesting in the future.

I circled the swirls in case you couldn't find them.

And finally, as per my last post, I went to Walnut, Iowa this last weekend. Other than the huge storm we drove through to get there, and the hour we had to wait in the car once we got there for the rain to stop, we had a blast!

I even managed to snag a few things!

I love old salt glazed crocks. I don't have one this size and shape, and at $10 how could I pass it up? Now for a quiz, the little "dumbbell" next to the crock. Can anyone tell me what it is? At first glance I was thinking a child's sock darner, but that's probably not right. Is it a herb crusher? At $4 it's a great addition to my treenware.

I got this awesome trunk for $90! Toy box anyone? Check out the original hinges!

Below the little side tray is a drawer. Have you ever seen one of these? I still haven't figured out where it is going to go, but it wont be long and the babies will have grown out of their swing and bouncers. That will free up a wall.

Well go figure it is starting to thunder. I better go let the dog in. He is so scared of storms. The babies sleep through them, but the dog comes in the bedroom and wakes me up. Go figure...

My Little Huskers

We've finally grown in to our Husker shirts! Aren't we cute? Getting bigger by the day!

We have a new experience coming up this week. I'm going on a mini day and a half vacation! My first night away from the kiddos since they've come home! I don't know where you all are from, but every year, Father's Day weekend is the Walnut Iowa flea market. It is so worth the trip! I've gone the past I don't know how many years and always have a blast! With all of the baby things in the house I don't have room for much else, but I'm sure I'll find a couple special things I'll make room for! There will be 5 of us going this year. The more the merrier! I'll post photos of what I bought next week! Til then, ~Heather

My 3 Favorite Things

Summer time! The months seem to be flying by! I don't know what happened to Spring, we sort of skipped it. The kiddo's are past 6 months old. They are learning so many things daily. I snapped this picture of the boys. They love to watch each other these days.

On to my 3 Favorite things! A couple years back I went to Universal Studios in Florida with my mom and brother. I saw these jumpers and never forgot about them. When I found out I was expecting triplets I knew I had to have them! The smallest size they had was 6 month. And here we are six months old and they fit perfect!

We had a doctors appointment yesterday. I can't believe how they've grown. They boys are in the 50% for their age and Brileigh is 25%. Not bad for over 2 months early! The boys are actually the exact same weight!

Rylan is 16lb 13oz and 27.25" Tall

Brett is also 16lb 13oz but 26.25" Tall

My little petite daughter is 14lb 10oz and 25.75" Tall

We are starting the teething process so there are grumpy times to deal with. But for now, it's lunch time!

Brileigh the "Talker"

I got the video camera out to get a record of Brileigh "talking". She is pretty much nonstop chatter. Except for yesterday when Rylan got a hand full of her hair. Then it was a scream of agony! Poor girl! He agrees with his dad that her screeching gets old fast! As shown in the video, Brett just stares at her in wonder, while Rylan usually ends up crying for her to stop!

Mute no more

My daughter... Since she was born she has always been quiet. So quiet, my husband (who worries a lot) thought she was a mute. She does cry once in awhile when she's upset, and she can hear. I told him you don't need to worry about that, she'll find her voice some day. This week while he was away for work, Brileigh found her voice. She is a wild women all of the sudden. She wiggles everywhere! And her voice! I wouldn't call it talking, more like shrieking! NONSTOP shrieking. She loves to hear herself. Her brothers on the other hand stare at her in awe, or annoyance (I haven't figured out which yet). When Jeremy came home from his trip it took him only 5 minutes to say, I think I liked her better as a mute! I on the other hand think it is quite cute. She loves to shriek at her toys as she rolls all over the place. The picture below is one of the few times she is quiet these days.

Rylan on the other hand was very happy his sister decided to take a break.

What I've Been Working On
I got my punch needle supplies out the other day. I haven't done any of that for a few months. I think I'm going to mount some designs on fabric covered boxes. This is the first one I've started. I don't know what background color I'm going to do yet. Blue, Cream?

Updates

We've been having rainy days lately. I thought it was supposed to be April showers and May flowers! Oh well, since we've been forced to spend our days inside, I've finally got around to updating my website! I've added a lot of items to the sale category with low low prices! These are just a few of the things you'll find!

A lot of items, I only have 1 left, so first come, first get! Check them all out! www.theoldesaltbox.com

The end of April, the babies got baptized. It was a wonderful service, the babies didn't even cry! They actually laughed at the pastor when he poured water on their heads.

Coming from a 2 religion home, the babies, like myself were also dedicated to the Lord in my hometown Mennonite church. The service was on Mother's Day. After all of the picture taking my arms were about to fall off. Notice I'm holding 2 babies, while my husband only has one!

The beginning of May also brought baby food! Brileigh was not sure of sweet potatoes the first time she had them.

After getting used to the new flavors and textures, they like all of the different fruits and vegetables. Brileigh's bib is an oxymoron of the expression on her face!

And last, Brett not only looks like his dad, he shares his thoughts on shopping.

We've been having a lot of fun lately. The babies are starting to grab at toys and notice their surroundings. They are paying attention to one another. Brileigh and Brett role over, while Rylan thinks that is overrated. They still take a good 4 hour nap in the afternoon, which gives me time to craft! We actually have a pretty good schedule going on.

6:30 I wake up and get a workout done
7:30 The babies wake up have a bottle and eat cereal
8:00 - 12:00 Play and cat nap
12:00 The babies have a bottle with a fruit and vegetable
12:30 - 4:30 Nap Time
5:00 Cereal and Bottle
6:00 - 8:00 Play Time and if it's nice we go on a walk!
8:00 Bottle then off to bed

And when I say off to bed, I mean it. They fall asleep while having their bottle. And the best part? They sleep ALL NIGHT LONG! I hope this keeps up!

When I get some more items done, I'll post some more pictures. I have a bunch of things started at the moment!
