Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #15

Here is a card I made using the sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. With the holidays surrounding us this time of year, it's nice to sit down for a quiet hour or two putting together cards for friends and family.
I have an obsession with washi tape, but I don't use it that often. I've vowed to get better about that and have promised myself not to buy anymore until I've used some that I already have! For the paper strips in the center, I used my Ranger Distress Inks to dye white card stock to match the washi tape colors. The inks make for endless color combinations!
The embellishment in the middle is made using a die from PaperTrey Ink. Their fillable frames are the perfect sizes for cards, and they have an endless supply of stamps that work with them.

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #13

Are you ready for another card sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap? The latest one is full of fun possibilities.
For my card I dug through my scrap paper and came up with some fun papers from
Authentique, My Minds Eye & Bella Boulevard. I also used some stamps and a dies from PaperTrey Ink.

Brads are often neglected in my craft room. I have a ton, every color, size... But somehow they end up forgotten. I did get them out for this card though. The top piece is embellished with some green brads for extra texture.

Sketch N Scrap Holiday Hop

Today I've put together two Easter Mini Albums using papers from Bella Boulevard Spring Flings and Easter Things Collection
Here are the two albums I've done. Keep reading for a chance to win one of them...
The base of these mini albums are made from one sheet of 12x12 paper. I used a slightly altered template based on two from these blogs. Paper Craft Scissors and Scundy Scrap & Handmade
Once I had the album cut out and scored, I cut out my "mat" pieces and adhered them to both sides of the album.
I then used my patterned papers and coordinating stickers to cover and embellish the album.

I added a piece ribbon under the front and back cover pieces to tie the album shut.
NOW! For the second album I made. This one is for a giveaway! Yay! All you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post and you'll be entered to win this album.
Ready for your photos and journaling!
Thanks so much for coming to check out my Holiday Hop Post! Don't forget to hop on over to Kelly's blog tomorrow for her Holiday Hop Post.

Sketch-N-Scrap Card Challenge #12

Today I have a new Card Sketch for you from Sketch-N-Scrap. Check out the SNS blog and upload your card for a chance to win!
For my card I played around with some fun paper and embellishments. I am a stamp/die addict. If there is a stamp set with a coordinating die, I want it.  I am also a firm believer that every stamp should have a matching die. Wouldn't that be nice?
Here is a close up of my stamp/die work. Also you can see the stitch detail around the floral paper.

After I designed and cut my title piece out, I covered it in Diamond Stickles. It added just the right touch of bling to the layout and makes the title stick out.

Sketch N Scrap Challenge #42

Hello Everyone, Happy October! This year has been flying right by. I'm here today with a fun sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. It's a new month, so there is a new prize to win. Make sure you add your layout to the SNS Blog!
For my layout today, I chose 3 photos of the triplets putting together some craft kits I picked up at Target. They love getting their hands on my crafts, so it was high time they got their own. The photos feature a lot of color, so I chose papers that followed the same colorful scheme.
For the most part, once I've found my photos and the papers I want to use for a sketch, it comes together pretty easy. There are times though, I'm held up by one MAJOR part of the layout. THE TITLE! Sometimes, it just doesn't come to me. Does that happen to any of you? You just can't come up with a title that speaks for the page? That is how this page was for me. I had the it all done, except for a title. I just couldn't come up with one. How did I solve my problem? I took a photo of the layout and messaged a friend. In no time I had my title. Don't be afraid to ask for help. I would've never come up with this one on my own, and I think it is perfect. To make the title I designed it in Adobe Illustrator and cut it out with my cricut. I cut it out of white card stock then colored it using the same technique as on my August 1st post.
Products used in this layout:
Fancy Pants • It's Your Day • My Day
My Minds Eye • Wild Asparagus • Orange
Paper Studios • Denim
Basic Grey • Paper Labels • Wander
Sassafras • Count • Flag Banners

Fall Card

Okay first off I have to say, what a HUGE fan I am of PaperTrey Ink. I have to limit my time on their site because seriously, I would buy it all! I have quite a few of their items, but my "want" list is much greater than the "have" list.
They have a September Blog Hop Challenge going on right now and I decided to play along! This is the card I made for the challenge. I walk you through the steps for creating the leaves below. The center embellishment is a Stamp&Die set from PaperTrey Ink.
I used a gate fold style card for this project.

Okay for the leaves.... Gather your supplies. Ranger Distress Ink in various fall leaf colors, white card stock (I've cut mine in 2x2 squares), archival ink, stamp and die.
Next I stamped the fall leaf colors, aka Red, Yellow, Green & Brown onto my craft sheet. Next I spritzed them with a little water.
I take my squares of white card stock and drag them through the ink to get a different effect on every piece.
You can let your paper dry or use a heat gun to speed the process.
When dry, I used my Technique Tuesday leaf die and cut leaves out of each square of dyed paper.
Here is what a leaf looks like once cut out.
Now that I have all of my leaves cut out I'm ready to stamp.
Using the coordinating leaf stamp I've finished off my leaves and they are ready for embellishing.
