I embellished this card with encaustic wax, melting a block of it and dripping it on the card. It is a fun technique that adds a certain touch.

I don't know if you've seen, but Sketch-N-Scrap is celebrating World Card Making Day all month long. We still have our regular two card sketches this month, but we are also giving you a new one every Friday this month. Our first WCMD sketch is actually a flash back to the very first card sketch here at SNS. This sketch came out May 5th, 2013.

Here is the card I came up with for today's sketch. Perfect for a little girls birthday.
And as I like to do on flash back sketches, here is the card I made back in 2013.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #110

Hello and Happy August! It is back to school month and this momma isn't exactly shedding tears about that! It has been a wonderful summer, but the kids are ready to go back to school and so am I. Today I have another sketch for you that I designed for Sketch-N-Scrap. Upload your take on this sketch to the SNS blog and while you're there check out what the design team came up with.
For my layout I used a couple pictures of Brileigh with various critters she has tried to bring into the house and love forever. Living in the country she has ample animals to choose from!
I created the polka dot background by stamping the black card stock with Versa Mark and embossing it in glitter. The pink paper for the title piece, center outline and butterflies was made with white cardstock and a couple different Distress Inks. That way I could match the color to my other papers.
Here is a little guy we got to meet today. Our dog likes to catch bunnies and bring them to us. This guy is old enough he should survive. Once I locked Molly up, Mister Bunny and I took a walk deep into fields and he happily hopped away.
Items I used in this layout:
My  Little Shoebox • Pretty Little Things • Lovely Ladies
My Little Shoebox • Playtime • Hide & Seek
Card Stock • Black & White
Ranger • Distress Ink • Fired Brick & Picked Raspberry
My Stash • Dot Texture Stamp
Versa Mark Watermark Stamp Pad
Whispers • Glitter • Embossing Powder
Sizzix Adhesive Sheet
Adobe Illustrator
Cricut Expression
Darice • Picture & Punch • Butterfly Medium & Small
Ranger • Stickles • Seafoam

New Piece For Sale!

I've started working on some new fall items this last week and I have one finished!

Meet Hamilton.
He is a one-of-a-kind kind of guy, created by me. I started with making the body, then painting and distressing it. He has been mounted on a wooden spool that has been covered in vintage book paper and stained.
Hamilton's face is all hand sewed on and he has a real dried pumpkin stem.
He is wearing a repurposed scrap of curtain that I grunged up.
Hamilton is holding a small bunch of flowers. He also has on a rusty bell necklace. He is approx. 14" tall.
Hamilton is ready to move in with you!
