Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #56

Today I have a fun card sketch for you from Sketch-N-Scrap. This card just screams INK! Have some fun splattering, stamping and coloring.
For my card I went with my Ranger Distress inks. After smearing up my craft sheet with a few colors, I sprayed it with water and pulled white card stock through the ink. It's a fun technique with endless possibilities.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #87

School has started here in Nebraska and we are having quite a time adjusting to the new schedules in our house. I am however enjoying some quite time now that the kids are out of the house all day. Time well spent on scraping! Hopefully you all have time to play along with this fun sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. Make sure you head over to the blog to see what the design team all came up with.
I had been wanting to scrap this photo of the kids seeing the Ocean for the first time. This sketch was perfect because it featured one large photo. The orientation didn't quite work for me so I flipped the sketch to accommodate my photo. Next I took the photo over to my drawers (and drawers, and drawers) of paper to pick out the perfect one for the background. The sheet is from Basic Grey and it was perfect. The colors worked so well with the photo and the horizontal lines mimicked the lines in the photo. Such a fun sketch to do, I hope you all have time to give it a whirl!
Items I used in this layout:
Basic Grey • Capture
Basic Grey • Nordic Holiday • Slalom
Echo Park • Memos • 3x4 Journaling Cards
We R Memory Keepers • 4x6 Journal Cards
Basic Grey • Cappella • Mini Mono Stickers
Basic Grey • Wander • Office Tabs
Studio Calico • Tiny Type Stickers

Sketch N Scrap Twistback Challenge

Today I have another fun Twistback sketch for you from Sketch-N-Scrap. The back is this sketch from November 2013 and the twist this month is to use 1 shape repetitively throughout the layout.
I obviously went with circles for my shape. I know not a stretch due to the sketch, but to me circles worked the best with my theme. If I remember correctly when I did this sketch back in 2013 I used a large star in the back instead of the circle shape.
Getting back to this layout, I had a circle border die from Papertrey Ink that worked great for my needs. I also used a sizzix die to make some flowers to accent the page.  Last I added some hand drawn circles and scallops using a white uni-ball pen.
Items I used in this layout:
Crate Paper • Story Teller • 12x12 Pad
Sizzix • Die • Leaves
Sizzix • Die • Flowers Layers #6
Sizzix • Big Shot
Papertrey Ink • Die • Simple Circles Border
Ranger • Distress Ink • Walnut Stain
Ranger • Distress Ink • Crushed Olive
Ranger • Glossy Accents
Homemade Green Glimmer Mist
Tattered Angels • Glimmer Mist • Black Magic
Uni-Ball Gigno Pen White
Scotch • ATG
Adobe Illustrator
Cricut Expression

Finished Canvas'

The canvas' I was working on earlier today got finished. They have all been added to my website,
I may add some to eBay tomorrow, depends on my day. I am kinda crushing on the color scheme here so I plan on making some bigger pieces using the same colors. Stay tuned!

Rainy Days

Rainy days are excellent for crafting! I have so many projects started and many many more in my head waiting to be created! Something that I have wanted to try was reproducing vintage Halloween buckets. This is something that will truly test my patience.
When working in clay and paper mache you can only go so far before you have to set it down and wait for it to dry. I hate waiting. Here is one bucket that I'm waiting for it to dry. I'm pretty excited about how he turned out, I can't wait to see him with paint!
While waiting on clay, I decided to work on some canvas'. I've signed up to do a fall show so I need to start cranking out the finished product! I cut these pumpkins out of a cereal box with a Tim Holtz sizzix die. You can never underestimate the power of adding marker to a painted piece. The photo isn't the best but the top pumpkin has been shaded and highlighted with my Faber-Castell pitt pens. The dimension added is amazing.
Here are my works in progress today. I purchased a scrabble game at a garage sale this morning and I am already putting the tiles to good use on the top left canvas. I'll post photos of the finished pieces when they are done!

Work Tray Wednesday

See my work tray back there? Buried behind all of the other half finished things? So many projects, so little time...

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #55

Back again today with another fab card sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap!
I had a lot of fun putting this card together. After digging through my Basic Grey stash, I came up with some fun orange papers. The green piece had just enough touches of orange to fit in and give the right amount of contrast. The card was finished off with some stitch detail and a touch of ink.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #86

Happy August! Can you believe it almost time for school to start?? The summer has flown by for sure. I have a great sketch for you to play with, something to do indoors out of the heat! Make sure you head over to Sketch-N-Scrap to check out what the design team came up with and upload your take.
I am still scrapping vacation pictures and this sketch worked great for these photos. Rylan caught the garter at my cousins wedding and he thought he was pretty cool. For my layout, I dug through my scrap stash and pulled out pieces of paper from many different companies. I listed them below, unfortunately I don't know the lines and paper names since they were all scraps I had.
My title was made with my cricut and I used a distress marker to ink the edges of the letters, matching the inked edges to all of the layered papers.

EK Success 2" Circle Punch
EK Success Label Punch
We R Memory Keepers Tab Punch
