Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #28

Today I have a fun card sketch for you! Post your take on the SNS blog for a chance to win prizes!
For my card I used some of my scraps, stitching them together with my sewing machine. I've also started playing around with watercolor and wanted to incorporate that into the design.
I took a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the deer image onto it with archival ink.
After I stamped one, I decided I wanted to add the butterfly so I stamped another deer. I painted both so I'm sure the other guy will show up in a project later.
Here is a close up of the painted deer I used on the card. I fussy cut him out and added pop dots to him so he pops off the page just a tad.
Thanks for coming in!

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge # 59

Check out this fun sketch! I had a lot of fun with this one. I'd love to see what you do with it as well. Upload your layout to the Sketch-N-Scrap blog today!
I was flipping through a Colorbok paper pad I had and picked out some fun bright papers for this layout. I pieced the main papers together, using my cri cut to cut the large medallion in the center.
I played around with stamps and embossing to create some matching embellishments. The green banner is the same paper as the bottom, I just stamped it with green folk art paint then added some mustard seed ink to it to alter the color of the paper slightly. For the stars and polka dot banner, I embossed the dots with clear embossing powder then colored the white card stock with distress inks.
My title was designed in Illustrator and cut out with my cri cut. I left the title white. It pops of the paper and enhances the white border around the photos.
Items I used in this layout:
Colorbok • Patter Pack • 12x12 Papers
Card Stock • Lime Green
Card Stock • White
Card Stock • Light Blue
Folk Art • Acrylic Paint • Forest Moss
Paper Studios • 2" Star Punch
My Stash • Stamp • Numbers
My Stash • Stamp • Polka Dots
Cri Cut Expression

Sketch N Scrap Card Challenge #27

I'm back today with another fun sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap.
This card was a lot of fun to make. I dug out my watercolor paper and did a wash of color for my background pieces. I colored them to match the scrap pieces of Bo Bunny paper I dug out of my scrap stash.  The stamp sentiment is from Ali Edwards.

Bringing Back Work Tray Wednesday

I've finally found my work tray! Time to bring back my weekly "what I'm working on photo". Today I'm playing around with some soft gel making backgrounds for some layouts and enjoying my new purchase from Mama Elephant. I'll be putting up a post about the tags and layouts once I get the photos uploaded.

Overambitious?

One of the great things about finally being moved into the new house is that I can plant a vegetable garden again. I had used the last of my canned tomatoes and spaghetti sauce long ago. So perhaps I went a little crazy on the size of my new garden? Nah!
We had some crazy weather this spring with freezing temps later in the year than normal. Due to that I planted my garden later than I wanted to. Things are starting to pop up though, so that's the good news. I planted a lot of sweet corn, and a row of ornamental, I hope that give a good harvest, I'd like to make some wreathes and garlands for fall.
My cherry tomatoes are looking good, I'm almost out of my dehydrated ones, so I'll be doing more of those this year.
I planted potatoes, you know because I have the room, they went in the ground very late, but they are coming up strong. I may just be harvesting them in November!
Hard to tell, but these tracks are from a deer. I haven't seen one yet, but this one was checking out the garden. Hopefully there is enough alfalfa and grass around they leave my garden alone. The pest I'll most likely have to contend with is the rabbits and jack rabbits. We shall see.
I'll throw in an update or two in the future. I also planted a dozen different types of pumpkins and gourds so those will be a lot of fun this fall.

Sketch N Scrap Layout Challenge #58

Happy June everyone! I have a fun sketch for you all today. Give you something to do inside the air conditioning on these hot summer days. Upload your take on this sketch to the Sketch-N-Scrap blog for a chance to win a great prize from Chic Tags.
This layout was perfect for digging through my scrap stash. I pulled out some fun bright colors and used a rectangular die to cut out my 4 back pieces.  To add a little color to the white paper I sprayed a touch of Mister Huey's Society.
I found some fun embellishments from Elles Studio, Bella Boulevard and Echo Park to accent my layout.
The title was cut out with my cri cut and colored using distress inks. I used my xyron to stick it down.
Thanks for coming in!
