Sketch N Scrap Challenge #29

Is it really the middle of March already? Time flies when you're having fun! Speaking of fun, check out the newest sketch from Sketch N Scrap! I had fun playing with this one, make sure to you head on over to the site to upload your layout!
I took these photos almost a year ago. My son was sick with a high fever that refused to go away. We were out of town, on a weekend, in the middle of the night... Of course. Why would children think to get sick at any other time, right? Anyway, after the we drove 20 minutes to the hospital and went through the doors, his temperature disappeared. Just like that. During our visit there, the only thing that he was worried about was running out of cookies.
The papers I chose for this layout are from Basic Grey. I needed a solid sheet, but stark white was a little too much, so I misted it with some Tattered Angels spray and the distressed look matched perfectly with the patterned papers. For the title piece I again laid it out in Illustrator then cut it with my CriCut.
I added a little journaling spot to the layout as well. When making up the strip across the middle I layered 3 papers. The green is the main color, the grey I ripped for a distressed look and then I added a little strip of red to tie in the title color.

Items I used in this layout:
Basic Grey • Wander • Tarmac
Basic Grey • Little Black Dress • Tuxedo
Basic Grey • Indie Bloom • Polyvore
Basic Grey • Oliver • Office Tabs
Basic Grey • Oliver • Chip Stickers
Tattered Angels • Glimmer Mist • Black Magic
Ranger • Distress Ink • Pumice Stone

Sketch N Scrap Challenge #28

Is is Spring yet? Almost right? Well here's a little something to keep you busy if you're still stuck in the cold. Another sketch brought to you by Sketch N Scrap. Don't forget to head over to the site and upload your take on this great sketch!

For my layout I chose 3 photos of my daughter when she was having a bad day. Her pouts are simply adorable, sometimes... Check out the list of products I used in this layout, I managed to mix 7 different companies in this layout.

I drew up the title piece in Illustrator and cut it out with my cri cut. I seem to do that a lot, I can never find the right alphas or title card and this works pretty slick for me.
I layered the journal spot with another rectangle to add color and a doily for frills.
Items I used in this layout:
Basic Grey • Indie Bloom • El Camino
Basic Grey • Hello Luscious • Inviting
Basic Grey • Olivia • Office Tabs
Echo Park • Life is Good • Grandma's Quilt
My Minds Eye • Stella Rose • Gertie You & Me
Crate Paper • Emmas Shoppe Collection • Accent Cuts
Crate Paper • Mai Collection • Water Lilies

Sketch N Scrap Challenge #27

So did you all have fun with Sketch N Scrap's first Blog Hop? Now it's time for another sketch! This one was fun, I kept it pretty simple. Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to upload your take!

These papers from Fancy Pants are so pretty and matched my photos well. They are from a Christmas line, but they don't scream Christmas which is nice. Brileigh turned into a little mommy at Christmas dinner feeding her little cousin. It was so cute and she did so well.
For the title piece I layered a piece I cut with my CriCut on a matching tag.
For the main element I had been saving an ornament that had fallen off of our tree and lost it's string. It worked well with the papers and it's nice to have a piece of our Christmas tree on the layout.
Items I used in this layout:
Fancy Pants Designs • Saint Nick • Sugar Plum
Fancy Pants Designs • Saint Nick • Noel
Fancy Pants Designs • Saint Nick • Tinsel
Fancy Pants Designs • Saint Nick • Garland
Fancy Pants Designs • Saint Nick • Element Stickers

Sketch-N-Scrap Blog Hop + Giveaway!

We decided to try something new this month at Sketch-N-Scrap. A blog hop AND bonus sketch! If you have come here from Kerry's Blog, then you are ON the right path. Once you have found the secret words head on over to the next stop on the hop, Monica's Blog. If you've come straight here and would like to play along head over to the beginning at Sketch-N-Scrap.

Here is the wonderful sketch for this hop, a perfect layout for Valentines!

I'm also having a giveaway! Leave a comment below and you will be entered to win all of the fabulous things in the photo below!

To suit my photos, I turned the sketch 90°. I wanted to use these particular photos of the kids and this was the perfect layout.
I had fun playing with different elements for this layout. I took a journaling spot and cut the center out to create a window. After layering the scallop circle and heart, I added a title banner over the piece & put a little bit of red stickles on for the finishing touch

The blue strip of paper was a little to solid for this piece, so I took a white crayon and colored over the piece so it would match the blue in the main paper better.

Items I used in this layout:
Bo Bunny • 12" Persuasion Love Notes
Bo Bunny • 12" Love Bandit Cutouts
Ranger • Walnut Stain Ink Pad

Sketch N Scrap Challenge #26

Here we go with another wonderful sketch for the Sketch-N-Scrap challenge! This sketch is so much fun and it features 5 photo spots which is great for story telling! Use this sketch for inspiration and upload your take to the SNS blog today!
For my layout I chose 5 photos of my boys opening their "big" Christmas gift. When you are 3 years old nothing is cooler than a present that is 3 times your size!
For the title piece, I cut out the letters using my cricut and covered them with a green glitter glue making seem like glittery puff letters.
I layered different embellishments for the journaling spot, not getting too crazy as it is already a busy layout with all of the photos. (Lots to look at! :) )
Items I used in this layout:
Jillibean Soup • Christmas Eve Chowder •  Dried Green Onion
Jillibean Soup • Christmas Eve Chowder • Frozen Lobster
Jillibean Soup • Christmas Eve Chowder • Boiling Water
Jillibean Soup • Christmas Eve Chowder • Salt & Pepper
Jillibean Soup • Christmas Eve Chowder • Bite Size Bits
